Lynn Forester de Rothschild

Lynn Forester was born into a middle-class family in New Jersey, United States. She studied at Pomona College, graduating magna cum laude and as a Phi Beta Kappa member, and later earned a Juris Doctor with honors from Columbia University School of Law.

She began her career as a lawyer but later entered business and telecommunications. During the 1980s, she became an early investor in cellular telecommunications, building substantial experience in the rapidly developing communications industry.

In 2000, she married Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, then a leading British financier and former chairman of N M Rothschild & Sons. She subsequently became closely associated with the Rothschild family's investment and philanthropic activities.

Lynn Forester was born on 2 July 1954 in Oradell, New Jersey. Unlike many members of the Rothschild family, she was not born into the Rothschild dynasty. She developed her own professional career before marrying into the family.

Lynn married Sir Evelyn de Rothschild in November 2000. Evelyn was a senior member of the British Rothschild family and had served as chairman of N M Rothschild & Sons from 1976 to 2003.

After their marriage, Lynn continued developing her own professional activities while also becoming involved with Rothschild family philanthropy.

One of her most prominent later initiatives was the Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism, which she founded to bring business leaders, investors and policymakers together around questions concerning long-term value creation and the relationship between businesses and society. She later established the Council for Inclusive Capitalism.

Evelyn was the son of Anthony Gustav de Rothschild and Yvonne Lydia Louise Cahen d'Anvers. He was a member of the British branch of the Rothschild family and served as chairman of N M Rothschild & Sons from 1976 until 2003.

Lynn has two sons from a previous marriage. Through her marriage to Evelyn, she also became stepmother to his three children from his previous marriages: Jessica, Anthony and David de Rothschild.

Sir Evelyn died on 7 November 2022 in London at the age of 91.
